Australian University Sport and 199QUERY are proud to announce a joint venture providing exclusive live event information about the 2007 University games by SMS, the first of its kind in Australia.
At University Games 2007 on the Gold Coast, participants will be able to ask questions on any aspect of the games which includes the social program, directions to events and even live results of all games. This level of interaction with a sporting event has never been done before in Australia.
"We're excited to offer this service to our participants" says David Graham, Commercial Manager for Uni Sport. "They will be able ask questions in plain English about any aspect of the Games"
"This is a first for sporting events in Australia" Says 199QUERY marketing manager Katrina Welling. "Never before has a sporting participant had live access to detailed and tailored information about their event, just by using their mobile"
With the venture, participants will be able to ask for detailed event information, directions to social events, live scores, sporting ladder information simply by texting their question in plain English to 199QUERY (19978379).
For example if a participant wants to know where they are on the ladder, they can simply ask "Where is UNSW on the ladder for Hockey?". The 199QUERY researchers will respond within a few minutes with the answer.
199QUERY works through a sophisticated software system and a team of dedicated researchers who answer questions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At Uni Games 2007, 199QUERY will have exclusive access to event information on the University Games.
The 2007 University Games is held on the Gold Coast from 23rd to 28th September and features over 6,000 participants from around Australia competing in over 30 sports.
