Text search service challenges online search engine sector
The exciting mobile phone service 199QUERY is seeking to put a dent in the online search sector - by providing human tailored responses to customer queries.
Unlike a online search engine, which ties a user to a computer terminal, 199QUERY can be used any where simply through any mobile phone.
199QUERY claims it will provide answers to any question, from the number of bolts in the Sydney Harbour Bridge (6 million) to which colour wallet to buy for good luck (green).
199QUERY uses a novel mix of computer algorithms and human operators to privde custom bespoke answers to short questions sent via text message at $2.50 a pop.
Many of these human operators work from home using a normal broadband connection, and the company lists the diverse range of students, retired people, carers and single mothers as employees.
